900th anniversary of the founding of the Abbey in Cirencester

A day learning more about the history of St. Mary's Abbey in Cirencester. An Augustinian Abbey whose Abbots and Canons were at the forefront of many discoveries and which became the most wealthy abbey in England before King Henry XV111 abolished it in 1539.

The lectures were held at the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester.  Car parking, Coffee/tea on arrival and a light lunch was included in the price of £35 pp.

After the final lecture there was an opportunity to visit the Corinium Museum to see the 12th C illustrated manuscripts which will be displayed in Cirencester for the first time since 1539.
